James Scott
James Scott has been the Principal Trombone of the Calgary Philharmonic and Trombone Instructor at the University of Calgary since the 1981/82 season. He holds Bachelor's and Masters' degrees from the Juilliard School, and has performed with the New York Philharmonic, l'Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, the New Jersey Symphony, the Spoleto Festival and the National Orchestral Association. He is an active soloist and chamber musician as well, and a past member of Calgary's Prime Time Big Band.

Reflections on the Alessi Seminar 2002 in Italy
March 12, 2003Many readers will be familiar with the seminars that Joseph Alessi has held in Nyack, N.Y. for trombonists on two occasions, with a third to happen in August 2003. I had the opportunity to take part in a European version of the event last summer in Limone, Piemonte, Italy.
