Make sure you have the most up to date dat files from your virus shield, and talk to the IT people in the company you work for, or a local computer repair shop - they might be able to clean it if the virus shield doesnt Ciao Jason From : "Fred Hudson" To : , "Trombones and related issues forum." I think that in view of the "spoofing" characteristic of the "klez" worm our names were picked from third party lists as senders of messages which went to invalid addresses. Norton seems to be updating on an almost daily basis now, maybe this thing will get put to bed soon. Sent: Sunday, May 12, 2002 8:49 PM Subject: weird e mail I have been getting several (dozen or dozens) of e mails saying: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software (Exim). A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: There are various "mail delivery software" names. It then lists an email address that I never sent anything to. I never e mailed the address listed, never sent an attachment to that address. Has anyone else on this list been getting this stuff? As far as I know, this is the only place my e mail address is widely spread. My Norton anti-virus seems to catch all the nasty stuff. Just wondering if somebody's weird Outlook virus is emailing everybody with this "Your mail could not be delivered" blah blah blah. The stand is much sturdier than the Hamilton, but it does have its faults. There is a plastic piece that fits under the tightening bolt and snugs against the shaft. This fell out of mine and I simply jammed a little piece of stiff cardboard underneath. There are a variety of metal/plastic/wood shims that would serve the purpose and allow you to still tighten and loosen for transport. More recently, the bottom bolt stripped on mine, the one that tightens the leg section. It won't tighten or loosen at all! I tried to get Brasswind to give me a contact for K & M parts (as they had with Hamilton) but they did not have one. I believe the solutions proposed by Gary, while workable, make the stand less functional especially since the bolt has a large plastic knob on the end. I now use the stand at home and have one that stores in the bell for travel. It is much sturdier than it seems at first and has been very satisfactory so far. (No bolts to tighten.) I have one problem with it - there is a round knob with a screw that tightens to adjust where the cup stays on the main shaft - where the trombone bell rests - on my stand, the screw seems to be too short to properly tighten against the shaft, so the cup is never able to sit high enough for the horn to fit properly on the stand. Does anyone else have this problem - know who I should contact to get a better tightening knob, etc??? Thanks for your help! Does anyone have a suggestion or better yet, a recommendation as the >best for the buck? Ear training, ear shaning. I took two difficult terms of ear training and got good grades, too. But can I get my ears to do anything I ask then to do. Heck no! All they do is stick out from the sides of my head. Surely, you could spend your money on something more useful. You can at least throw a pet rock. Short crazy college kid with bleached streaks and a Bach 34/36 that I got from Sam :^) Are we going to try to meet somewhere, maybe hang out somewhere at a specific time? That would be super cool. And, I'm looking for a large bore trombone.....I'm going to UCLA in the fall!! I am hoping to have a chance at the orchestra and maybe some of the ones that are in the area, so I'd better get playing on the right equipment. THIS IS THE LAST WEEK OF INSTRUCTION! I am sooooo HAPPY!! See ya'll in Texas!
